The Novena consists of five decades of the Rosary each day for twenty-seven days in petition; then immediately five decades each day for an additional twenty-seven days in thanksgiving, whether or not the request has been granted. The meditations vary from day to day. On the first day meditate on the Joyful Mysteries; on the second day the Sorrowful Mysteries; on the third day the Glorious Mysteries; on the fourth day meditate again on the Joyful Mysteries and so on throughout the fifty-four days.

History of the 54 Day Rosary Novena

On March 3, 1884, a young girl named Fortuna Agrelli was graced with an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary and given this special devotion which she passed onto others.

At the time, young Fortuna was ill with 3 separate incurable diseases and her doctors had given up on her case saying it was hopeless. In desperation, the young girl and her family began a novena of Rosaries.

Our Lady appeared to the girl, sitting upon a high throne, surrounded by luminous figures, holding the Divine Child on Her lap, and in Her hand a Rosary.

The sick girl greeted the Blessed Virgin with the following words: “Queen of the Holy Rosary, be gracious to me, restore me to health! I have already prayed to Thee in a novena, O Mary, but have not yet experienced Thy aid. I am so anxious to be cured!”

“Child,” responded the Blessed Virgin, “you have invoked Me by various titles and have always obtained favors from Me. Now, since you have called Me by that title so pleasing to Me, ‘Queen of the Most Holy Rosary’, I can no longer refuse the favor you petition; for this name is most precious and dear to Me. Make three novenas, and you shall obtain all.”

Once more, the Queen of the Holy Rosary appeared to the young girl and said, “Whoever desires to obtain favors from Me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving.” Obeying Our Lady’s instructions, the young girl was healed and restored to perfect health.

The following statement by Mr. Lenar is a continuation of his healing testimony which is published on this website.

Reflecting on his journey of faith as a Christian and practicing Catholic, Loci B. Lenar, the founder of www.Christian-Miracles.com, and resident of Mine Hill, New Jersey, says that through daily recitation of a 54 day rosary novena, his prayers were answered for healing and for other private intentions.

The 54 day rosary novena involves praying 27 days in petition for a request and then followed by 27 days in thanksgiving for prayers answered. The prayer is known as the Irresistible Novena to Our Lady.

Mr. Lenar says that nearly two decades have passed since being miraculously healed of a medical condition known as Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib) and from severe bouts of headaches.

"I was sitting outside in my backyard on a patio chair and praying the rosary for Our Lady's intercession. It was a warm summer evening, sometime between 9:00 and 10:00 P.M. near the end of June. Then suddenly, on the twenty-seventh day of the novena, the Blessed Mother appeared as sign in the sky for about 30 seconds." said Mr. Lenar.

"Our Lady was standing over a full moon, appearing in a tunic that was white as snow, and her arms spread out, similar to the image on the miraculous medal. It reminded me of Revelation 12:1, which states, 'A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head,' " said Mr. Lenar.

At the completion of the life-changing 54 day rosary novena, Our Lady guided Mr. Lenar to receive the Anointing of the Sick at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Any priest from any parish can administer this Catholic sacrament to anyone in need of God's healing. Graces associated with this Catholic sacrament include physical, spiritual and emotional healing. 

Scripture says the following about receiving God's healing grace: "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." James 5:14-15

God's spiritual remedy for treating Mr. Lenar's medical ailments included a visit to St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Denville, NJ), where he requested the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and was anointed with oil by Fr. Richard Tartaglia. He received the Anointing of the Sick several times at Saint Mary's Church before completely being healed through this beautiful sacrament.

Moreover, Mr. Lenar is reminded of the promises of Jesus, "So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."  (Mark 11:24)

Mr. Lenar says,“Through God's divine gift, I was healed of the heart arrhythmia and from years of suffering daily headaches. As a result of the healing power of Jesus, I was able to stop taking medication for the ailments. I will never forget that day, I heard Jesus say through an interior locution, 'You are healed.'"

Mr. Lenar was initially treated for the Atrial Fibrillation with the medication Lanoxin by his family physician, Dr. Gilbert Mandel of Denville Associates of Internal Medicine, Pocono Road, Denville, NJ.  Mr. Lenar visited Dr. Mandel on February 7, 2014 and requested documentation that he is no longer treated for Atrial Fibrillation.
